Dr Effah-Donyina has been involved in the energy industry for about 20 years, having worked in Ghana and also on some projects in Europe. He has been involved in areas of research, strategic planning, sustainability analysis, network strategy, renewable energy assessment and policy. He led projects on the technological, economic and institutional strategies for renewable energy resources. He also managed work on renewable energy resource assessment in areas of wind, solar and biomass in the light of technological, environmental and socio-economic limitations. He has also been involved in assessment of appropriate public policy and financing strategies for large scale development and deployment of renewable energy technologies. He has done extensive work on economic evaluation of utility pricing tariffs, tariff computations and adjustments to reflect changes in key economic and technical parameters. He has also contributed to the study and review of renewable energy bills. He also led research projects into alternative power generation technologies, network strategy and asset management. He coordinated and managed issues on utility regulatory assurance and policy. He has also led regional and national projects on smart metering and billing, as well as transmission and distribution loss control. He has produced extensive analysis on issues of sustainability and environmental impact assessments.
